I got my start in strength training in high school when I started playing rugby. Rugby is a tough sport and I had to get tough in order to compete. Strength training gave me that toughness.
When I went to college, I started training with the strength coach where I was able to build on my strength. More importantly, I was exposed for the first time to structured fitness training provided by a certified trainer. He taught me the basics of exercise execution, program design, and how to progress/regress the variables for everyone. While pursuing my degree in psychology, I also started to purse my personal training career at the local YMCA.
In 2008, I moved to Fort Lauderdale and was hired as a personal trainer at Bally Total Fitness. Here, I continued to improve my skills as a personal trainer. The more I improved, the more I realized how much I loved the positive impact I was able to have on my clients.
In 2013, I launched Apex Strength and Training with the goal of helping anyone, from age 8 to 80, reach their fitness and wellness goals. My personal mantra is “Improve every day!” My focus is on improving my own fitness levels, my knowledge on fitness and wellness training, and most importantly my clients.
